This deal would see them receive a 2026 fifth-round pick and 2027 sixth-round pick for him. Jordan’s contract is set to void after the 2025 season and leave behind $18.76 million in dead money on the 2026 salary cap. Trading him wouldn’t change that, but it would get the Saints a couple of draft picks.

From a pure player perspective, that’s actually not a terrible value. Jordan played less than half of the team’s snaps on defense and has just six sacks in the last two seasons combined. There is also the question of moving him into a 3-4 defense after he spent most of his career in a 4-3 base.

The problem is that trading away Jordan is not just trading away another player. He is a team leader and franchise icon. That’s a move that would shatter the locker room, unless he is the one that is trying to be traded. That doesn’t seem like the case. While it would be a solid value, it probably would not be worth doing until Jordan initiates the conversation. Things almost got to that point last year, but coaching changes made the situation more agreeable for him, even after Jordan agreed to return on a steep pay cut. Jordan has since gone on the record to say he won’t request a trade away from New Orleans.

The 35-year-old defensive end might change his tune if things start to go poorly this year. It’s not secret that he is in the last stretch of his career and he is running out of chances at a ring. If the Saints can move him to a competitor and pick up some draft capital in the process, it would be a win-win, but you have to think Jordan intends on finishing his career in black and gold.

[2076
3729,6867,7,1071,4757,4756,7185,206,896,55,2572,2571,6,676,397
0":"post-82611","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-new-orleans-saints","8":"tag-cameron","9":"tag-cameron-jordan","10":"tag-football","11":"tag-jordan","12":"tag-lattimore","13":"tag-marshon","14":"tag-marshon-lattimore","15":"tag-new","16":"tag-new-orleans","17":"tag-new-orleans-saints","18":"tag-neworleans","19":"tag-neworleanssaints","20":"tag-nfl","21":"tag-orleans","22":"tag-saints
["GET
