{"id":826409,"date":"2026-03-22T03:53:15","date_gmt":"2026-03-22T03:53:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/826409\/"},"modified":"2026-03-22T03:53:15","modified_gmt":"2026-03-22T03:53:15","slug":"colts-reacts-survey-results-stampede-blue-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/826409\/","title":{"rendered":"Colts Reacts Survey Results | Stampede Blue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">The Indianapolis Colts completed their two top priorities entering NFL free agency two weeks ago, re-signing both starting quarterback Daniel Jones and wide receiver Alec Pierce\u2014albeit at arguably inflated rates.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">That being said, the Colts couldn\u2019t afford to reasonably lose either top player, given the lack of suitable internal replacements, although one could make the argument that veteran quarterback Kyler Murray, who signed with the Minnesota Vikings for the veteran\u2019s minimum, would be more cost effective than Jones for at least 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">After placing the transition tag on Jones, and a surprisingly lengthy contract negotiation, the Colts and Jones would eventually agree to a 2-year, $88 million contract extension that can reach up to $100 million with additional earned incentives by Indianapolis\u2019 returning QB1, who\u2019s still recovering from a season-ending torn Achilles suffered in Week 14 of last season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">37% of Colts fans gave the new Jones\u2019 contract a \u2018C\u2019 grade, meaning \u2018Average,\u2019 but it barely beat out the 34% of Colts fans, who gave it a strong B grade (i.e., \u201cGood\u201d):<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">After the Colts re-signed both Pierce and Jones during the first wave of free agency, the Colts have then made a number of depth signings, including veteran edge Arden Key among others.
