A backup Denver Broncos<\/a> offensive lineman has agreed to take a pay cut ahead of the 2026 season.<\/p>\n Earlier this week, KPRC-TV’s Aaron Wilson<\/a> reported that backup swing tackle\/guard Matt Peart agreed to a restructured one-year, $2 million deal with the Broncos that includes a $225,000 signing bonus and a $1.215 million base salary. That’s a notable drop from the $3.5 million that Peart was originally scheduled to make this season.<\/p>\n After Peart agreed to a pay cut, the team saved about $1.58 million in salary cap space, according to Michael Ginnitti of Spotrac.com<\/a>. Peart signed a two-year, $7 million deal with Denver last March. He dressed for the first six games of the 2025 season and started one game in the place of an injured Ben Powers before suffering a season-ending torn MCL<\/a>.<\/p>\n Now returning from a major injury, Peart will aim to win a spot as a backup swing tackle\/guard again this summer. Taking on a reduced salary should help his chances of making the team.
