For example, I see a number of articles today expressing that the Rams plan to try and draft an offensive player in the first round of the upcoming draft, but I also see some theories that the Rams could trade back to secure more picks for 2026 and or 2027.

It’s interesting the direction this team can go. Whereas for a team like the Las Vegas Raiders who pretty clearly NEED to draft a quarterback, or even the Miami Dolphins who may need to add some wide receivers, the Rams have some flexibility.

But I do wonder if the Rams will have to make a choice to go for it all in 2026, or try to build for the present and future. Sometimes, we can only build for the present or future, not both, but maybe the Rams have a great vision for now and later.

It’s Monday, thank you for checking out Turf Show Times and please comment on whatever you want!

“The Los Angeles Rams have shown their aggression this offseason, signing one of the top free agent cornerbacks in Jaylen Watson while trading for his teammate, Trent McDuffie.

Following these moves, the Rams have no fourth or fifth-round picks in the NFL Draft, and the need to build the foundation of the roster is important for head coach Sean McVay and general manager Les Snead. The formidable tandem must consider trading back, and I picked three teams that could move back with Los Angeles.“

“One of those possibilities is fixing their offensive tackle room. There’s an argument to be made that the Rams should replace one or both starting tackles, especially in a must-win Super Bowl season where every little bit counts.

This line of thinking has drawn the ire of Rams fans, pointing to the numbers specifically in defense of right tackle Warren McClendon Jr. Many fans have said they throw out mocks with an OT in the first round and even further hyperbole in defense of their starting duo, believing the Rams should look elsewhere.

I wouldn’t be so sure.“

“L.A. fixed its secondary with the acquisitions of cornerbacks Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson and the retention of safety Kamren Curl.
