SCOTTSDALE \u2014 Depending on who you ask, Arizona Cardinals fans are pretty divided on how wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.\u2019s rookie year went.<\/p>\n

On one hand, he managed to snag eight touchdowns in Year 1.<\/p>\n

Then again, he fell short of many\u2019s lofty expectations by failing to hit the 1,000-yard mark and not possessing the same kind of consistency he had at Ohio State.<\/p>\n

Ask quarterback Kyler Murray, though, and he\u2019s not pumping the brakes on what he and the pass catcher can accomplish heading into Year 2.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor him to have eight touchdowns and feel like he didn\u2019t even scratch the surface<\/a>, that\u2019s saying something,\u201d Murray told Arizona Sports\u2019 Cardinals Corner from Salt River Fields on Tuesday. \u201cObviously, me and him have to be better and we will be better. But I loved where he was mentally at the end of the season.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing more open, being more comfortable with the guys in the locker room, being more comfortable with me, being more comfortable just to speak his mind within the receiving room with (Israel Woolfork and Drew Terrell).\u201d<\/p>\n

How can Kyler Murray, Marvin Harrison Jr. improve their connection?<\/p>\n

As for the biggest area Murray and Harrison must continue to nail down? Communication.<\/p>\n

Week 1 was a good example of that.<\/p>\n

After Harrison\u2019s one-catch NFL debut in a Week 1 loss to the Buffalo Bills, the wide receiver didn\u2019t quite open up to his signal caller about just how fast the game was for him until weeks later.<\/p>\n

For the duo to take that next step, that can\u2019t happen moving forward. And from how Murray sounds, that won\u2019t be the case given the work they\u2019ve put in since.<\/p>\n

\u201cI understand him in the sense of he\u2019s got this name and he wants to just come in and prove himself,\u201d Murray told<\/a> Arizona Sports\u2019 Wolf & Luke on Tuesday. \u201cPeople say he\u2019s not talkative. Well, they would have said I wasn\u2019t talkative my rookie year, either, because all I wanted to do was come in and show guys I\u2019m worth where they picked me and who I am.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, I understand that part of his personality. But as he gets more comfortable, he\u2019s going to continue to grow. I truly believe that.\u201d<\/p>\n
