NFL Media&#8217;s Tom Pelissero was first to report the news.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Veteran G Robert Jones has agreed to terms with the 49ers, source confirms, as <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TomPelissero?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">@TomPelissero<\/a> reported. Jones is a strong candidate to start at LG.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Matt Maiocco (@MaioccoNBCS) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MaioccoNBCS\/status\/2036240479793324405?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">March 24, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The 49ers hosted Jones for a visit Monday and must have liked what they saw. Despite his neck injury that kept him out of the 2025 NFL season, Jones, 27, started all 17 games at left guard in 2024 with the Miami Dolphins and has 30 career starts to his name after entering the league as an undrafted free agent in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Per PFF, Jones posted a 54.3 pass block grade, a 56.3 run block grade and a 56.1 overall grade with 28 pressures and five sacks allowed in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Jones joins <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsportsbayarea.com\/nfl\/san-francisco-49ers\/brett-toth-contract-free-agency\/1923050\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">fellow free-agent addition Brett Toth<\/a> in competing for a starting spot on the 49ers&#8217; offensive line.
