The Buffalo Bills<\/a>‘ receiver room has been a big topic of discussion for the past couple of seasons, with the franchise seemingly unwilling to give Josh Allen a true No. 1 weapon post Stefon Diggs.<\/p>\n

Well, Brandon Beane did it this offseason, signing DJ Moore from the Chicago Bears<\/a>. Moore comes to the receiver room with Khalil Shakir, Joshua Palmer, Keon Coleman, and Tyrell Shavers.<\/p>\n

That is a decent enough receiver room for Allen, and we haven’t mentioned James Cook or Dalton Kincaid yet, either, both of whom are pass-catching options.<\/p>\n

In an odd twist, though, Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox has named Palmer as a cut candidate, just a year after signing a deal with Buffalo.<\/p>\n

“Last offseason, the Buffalo Bills signed wide receiver Joshua Palmer to a three-year, $29 million contract,” Knox wrote<\/a>. “Unfortunately, Palmer was slowed by an ankle injury, tallied just 22 receptions for 303 yards, and landed on injured reserve ahead of the playoffs.<\/p>\n

“While Palmer still has two years remaining on his contract, Buffalo could conceivably get out of it by releasing him after June 1. Cutting him before then would cost $2.5 million in additional cap space, while cutting him after June 1 would save $2.3 million in cap room.”<\/p>\n

Bills won’t cut Palmer, will they?<\/p>\n

Well, the NFL is a never-say-never league, but I can’t think of a good reason why Buffalo would.<\/p>\n

It needs bodies at receiver, and the cap savings are neither here nor there.<\/p>\n

Cutting Palmer would increase the pressure on Moore, Shakir, and Coleman to step up even more, and it would also put more pressure on Allen as well.<\/p>\n

So, the idea is a fine one, but for me\u00a0it doesn’t seem realistic, especially since Palmer was only signed last year and had his season derailed by injury.<\/p>\n

Surely the Bills want to see what Palmer can do in 2026.<\/p>\n
