It’s been a quiet free agency period for the Jacksonville Jaguars<\/a>, but the one outside addition the team has made has been the signing of running back Chris Rodriguez.<\/p>\n

Let’s take a look at some of Rodriguez’s career highlights, courtesy of the Jaguars’ YouTube channel<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This will be Rodriguez’s fourth NFL season. He spent the first three years in Washington, which included an increased role in 2025, when he carried the ball 112 times, averaging 4.5 yards per attempt.<\/p>\n

Rodriguez also ranked among the best in\u00a0PFF’s<\/a>\u00a0average yards after contact metric, showcasing his ability to bounce off tackles and make defenders miss.<\/p>\n

He will join the Jaguars<\/a> quite familiar with Liam Coen. During Rodriguez’s most productive college season at Kentucky, when he rushed for nearly 1,400 yards at 6.1 yards per attempt, Coen was his offensive coordinator.<\/p>\n

With the\u00a0Jaguars<\/a>, Rodriguez could help shoulder the workload out of the backfield with Bhayshul Tuten, while LeQuint Allen continues to see the field during more obvious passing situations. He also brings some experience to a relatively young running back room.<\/p>\n
