{"id":832013,"date":"2026-03-25T00:30:21","date_gmt":"2026-03-25T00:30:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/832013\/"},"modified":"2026-03-25T00:30:21","modified_gmt":"2026-03-25T00:30:21","slug":"bengals-agree-to-1-year-deal-with-backup-quarterback-joe-flacco","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/832013\/","title":{"rendered":"Bengals agree to 1-year deal with backup quarterback Joe Flacco"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>March 24 (UPI) &#8212; The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upi.com\/topic\/Cincinnati-Bengals\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Cincinnati Bengals\" class=\"tpstyle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Cincinnati Bengals<\/a> agreed to a one-year contract with veteran backup quarterback <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upi.com\/topic\/Joe_Flacco\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Joe Flacco\" class=\"tpstyle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Joe Flacco<\/a>, his agency, JL Sports, confirmed Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Flacco, 41, joined the Bengals through an October trade with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upi.com\/topic\/Cleveland-Browns\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Cleveland Browns\" class=\"tpstyle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Cleveland Browns<\/a>. He appeared in nine Cincinnati games, including six starts, last season as a replacement for injured starter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upi.com\/topic\/Joe-Burrow\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Joe Burrow\" class=\"tpstyle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Joe Burrow<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>Flacco completed 61.7% of his throws for 1,664 yards, 13 scores and four interceptions over his final nine appearances of 2025-26. He completed 58.1% of his throws for 815 yards, two scores and six interceptions over four starts for the Browns to start the campaign.<\/p>\n<p>The 18-year veteran completed 61.6% of his throws for 48,176 yards, 272 scores and 172 interceptions over the first 209 appearances of his NFL career. Flacco, who spent his first 11 seasons with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upi.com\/topic\/Baltimore-Ravens\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Baltimore Ravens\" class=\"tpstyle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Baltimore Ravens<\/a>, also played for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upi.com\/topic\/Denver_Broncos\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Denver Broncos\" class=\"tpstyle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Denver Broncos<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upi.com\/topic\/New-York-Jets\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"New York Jets\" class=\"tpstyle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">New York Jets<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upi.com\/topic\/Indianapolis-Colts\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Indianapolis Colts\" class=\"tpstyle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Indianapolis Colts<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He has a 107-94 record as a starter during the regular season.
