Baltimore Ravens<\/a> general manager Eric DeCosta can only hope that offensive guard Olaivavega Ioane is still available for selection when the franchise gets its first pick at No. 14 in the 2026 NFL draft. The Ravens lost so much firepower in free agency this offseason, including former tight-ends Charlie Kolar and Isaiah Likely, leaving fans to wonder what type of product will be put forth on the field at M&T Bank Stadium this fall. Nevertheless, with quarterback Lamar Jackson and running back Derrick Henry still in the lineup, the team simply needs a few new additions and plug-ins to carry on tradition heading into the 2026 season.<\/p>\n

\"Olaivavega<\/p>\n

Ioane, who enters the draft this upcoming spring after a few seasons at Penn State, helped the Nittany Lions<\/a> average over 170 rush yards per game during the 2025 NCAA football season. Ioane’s body of work certainly meshes with the Ravens’ identity, and the franchise is fully convinced that Ioane can be an immediate asset to their offense. The Ravens have given up far too many sacks over the last two seasons, causing Jackson to take hits, which in turn led to a nagging injury last season. This partially explains why the franchise missed the playoffs when they seemed to be on a very promising upward trajectory.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ultimately, what Loane brings is youth, quickness, and strength, all of which are vital components that can help shape him into one of the NFL’s all-pro offensive linemen. Youth at the offensive lineman position hasn’t always meant immediate success, but reps against the powerhouse that is the Ravens’ defensive front will help build on Loane’s maturation, similar to how it has for offensive tackle Roger Rosengarten. With Loane and Rosengarten in the locker room, the Ravens can start their rehabilitation and hope to build a fortifying front on offense to help offensive coordinator Declan Doyle dial it up for the stars in the playbook. Hopefully, the Ravens can draft Loane and begin their journey to redemption after failing to make the playoffs despite finishing No. 2 in the NFL in rushing yards per game.<\/p>\n
