Brown. Fans in Philly has been hoping to see the team in on a possible Maxx Crosby deal, so why not go after an even bigger prize? The Eagles are a team that don’t really need their draft picks to stay successful after years of solid drafting, meaning they have the luxury to try and pull off a huge deal like this. Adding Garrett to the Eagles effectively says “goodnight” to the rest of the NFC East. It would cause the Giants and Commanders to quake in their boots playing young quarterbacks who have injury concerns against the league’s most dominant, violent pass rusher — and it would immediately put Philly back in the NFC Championship conversation after seeing the conference dominated by the NFC West in 2025.

Browns, Myles Garrett trade options: Cowboys, Bills among Top 6 destinations – Dawgs By Nature
Myles Garrett to the Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles won a Super Bowl with a dominant defensive line. Brown trade? – PhillyVoice
I’m going to focus on the last part of your question, noting that a post-draft trade would have to involve 2027 picks. Personally, I think 2027 picks are preferable. The Eagles have nine picks total in the 2026 draft, with extra picks in the third, fourth, and fifth rounds. They’re also picking a little higher than they usually do after their first-round exit in the playoffs last season. They’re not hurting for draft capital this year. But also, as noted in our Tuesday mailbag, if you look at Eagles mock draft roundups, a lot of the guys projected to them are kind of like, “Ew, no.” It just doesn’t seem like a very good draft this year, with fewer than normal true first-round talents. And that’s at pick 23. If you’re trading with a team like the Patriots, for example, you’re getting pick 31. Surely, the Eagles would far prefer the Patriots’ pick in 2027 (and the Pats would probably prefer to keep their 2027 pick instead, frankly), as New England is highly unlikely to repeat as AFC champs, and also have some potential to not even qualify for the playoffs. Hell, they’re not even favored to win their own division this season. As for having the “framework” of a post-June 1 trade worked out, sure, I can see that. Of course, as you mentioned, the Pats could fill their need for a receiver elsewhere or A.J. could suddenly decide that he loves Jalen Hurts again like he used to (OK, maybe not). But there is risk on both sides that something could blow up a deal between now and then.

Thoughts about all 10 players Eagles have added in free agency – NBCSP
WR Hollywood Brown. The Eagles brought in Brown on a 1-year, $5 million contract. Brown is a former first-round pick who has never quite lived up to his draft status as the No. 25 overall selection in 2019. But Brown has had a somewhat productive career with his best season coming in 2021 with the Ravens; that’s his only 1,000-yard season. Last year with the Chiefs, Brown caught 49 passes for 587 yards and 5 touchdowns. The idea with Brown (5-9, 180) is that his pure speed — he ran a 4.27 at his pro day in 2019 — will help stretch the field both vertically and horizontally. That element means that Brown can theoretically have an impact on the game when he isn’t seeing a ton of targets; and that has traditionally been important in an offense with so many talented skill players. On top of that, Brown has a preexisting relationship with Jalen Hurts, which isn’t a bad thing either. Of course, we can’t look at any receiver move without thinking about the A.J. Brown situation. If Hollywood is coming to Philadelphia to be the Eagles’ No. 3 receiver behind A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, that’s an ideal role. If he has to be the No. 2 behind Smith, that is less appealing.

What are the Philadelphia Eagles’ future stadium plans? It will soon become a hot topic – The Athletic
When Washington’s new stadium is completed with an estimated fall 2030 date, the Eagles would have the oldest venue in the NFC East. Lincoln Financial Field opened in 2003. There were 14 stadiums erected in the decade before. Six are already being replaced or undergoing major renovations. Replacing or renovating Lincoln Financial Field does not seem to be a necessity, although stadium architecture and features have evolved during its 23-year lifespan. The Eagles’ stadium rights deal was originally 20 years and was extended in 2019 through … the 2032 season — the same year the lease expires. That further highlights a potential inflection point in 2033. (Of course, a lease can be extended just like a naming rights deal.)

2026 NFL draft team needs: Depth chart holes, prospect fits – ESPN
Top three needs: Edge, OL, TE. The Eagles made a push to re-sign Jaelan Phillips in free agency but lost him to the Panthers. Though the addition of Arnold Ebiketie helps, there’s more work to do at that position. Lingering injuries affected the offensive line last year, highlighting the need to pour more resources into the front — especially with right tackle Lane Johnson and left guard Landon Dickerson contemplating retirement this offseason. The return of Dallas Goedert puts a Band-Aid on the tight end position, but Philadelphia needs a long-term solution.

Rich McKay: No proposal to ban it, but tush push still has some people concerned – PFT
“I don’t know that it’s the end of the debate,” McKay said. “I think there’s still people who are concerned with the whole pushing element.” McKay added, however, that the play might decline in part because defenses are getting better at stopping it. Due to cap reasons, Philadelphia may need to trade Brown after the June 1 designation in order to spread the dead money cap hits over two seasons. That would likely result in New England surrendering 2027 draft capital, which is largely viewed as a more talented draft than 2026. Patriots fans would currently favor trading this year’s second-round pick (No. 62) in addition to a potential player — such as Kayshon Boutte. 27% of participants would surrender pick No. 31 while just 15% are comfortable moving the team’s 2027 first-round pick.

Ranking 11 position groups in 2026 NFL Draft from strongest to weakest: Edge rusher, linebacker loaded – NFL.com
1) Edge defender (24.5 points). Who knows, but probably because they don’t like to change things and are happy to sit there on the third day of the draft and strategize about players that will never work out in the NFL. The end result of all this – three botched drafts in a row, reaching for players based on athletic traits, refusing to plug roster holes in free agency, and not using enough of their late-round picks as trade currency – is a hollowed-out roster that will not be able to compete against the better teams in the league.
