After losing Jaelan Phillips and Nakobe Dean in free agency, the Philadelphia Eagles<\/a> need to add some depth at edge rusher.<\/p>\n

Perhaps they could steal one from the rival Dallas Cowboys<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Eagles named potential landing spot for veteran defensive end\u00a0Jadeveon Clowney<\/p>\n

The Eagles were recently listed as a potential landing spot<\/a> for veteran defensive end\u00a0Jadeveon Clowney by Alex Kennedy of Pro Football Network.<\/p>\n

Clowney, 33, spent the 2025 season in Dallas. He’s also previously played for the Panthers<\/a>, Ravens<\/a>, Browns<\/a>, Titans<\/a>, Seahawks<\/a> and Texans<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Jadeveon Clowney is a pass-rush mercenary for hire, and he still does it at a high level. He\u2019s played for seven teams over the last eight years, but he\u2019s coming off an 8.5-sack season for the Cowboys and has reached that mark in three of his last five seasons,” Kennedy wrote.<\/p>\n

“Though Clowney missed a few games due to injury and stepped into more of a rotational role for Dallas, he ranked No. 15 in pass-rush win rate among edge rushers at 16.7%. He\u2019ll likely sign onto another one-year deal, but he\u2019s still a quality pass rusher entering Year 13 of his NFL career.”<\/p>\n

While probably not a full-time starter at this point in his career, Clowney could still be a productive player. He tallied 41 combined tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 10 QB hits and 8.5 sacks with the Cowboys last season.\u00a0Those 8.5 sacks last season were more than any single player on the Eagles had.<\/p>\n

It remains to be seen if the Eagles will actually pursue Clowney, but he certainly has a skill set that they could use.<\/p>\n

If not Philadelphia, Clowney, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, will assuredly land somewhere with an opportunity to contribute next season.<\/p>\n
