THE Dallas Cowboys have dropped a major hint on the potential direction they may head into the 2026 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n

The Cowboys<\/a> aren\u2019t exactly short of talent at wide receiver, but that hasn\u2019t stopped them from hosting one of the NFL Draft\u2019s<\/a> best prospects.<\/p>\n

It might well be that Jerry Jones<\/a> is attempting to deceive the rest of the NFL<\/a> with a decoy move as they hold two first-round picks. <\/p>\n

However, it could also be that he is very keen on getting to know Indiana Hoosiers<\/a> star wideout Omar Cooper Jr. in depth. <\/p>\n

Per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Cowboys will host Cooper Jr. on a top-30 visit ahead of April\u2019s draft in Pittsburgh<\/a>. <\/p>\n

It is one of at least eight top-30 visits for the 2025 National Champion<\/a> wideout. <\/p>\n

The Cowboys have made it clear that defense is the priority<\/a> moving forward this season after a disastrous year in 2025. <\/p>\n

However, that doesn\u2019t mean they aren\u2019t willing to use high draft capital on offensive weapons like Cooper Jr. <\/p>\n

Head coach Brian Schottenheimer<\/a> said as much at the Texas Longhorns<\/a> Pro Day.<\/p>\n

He commented, \u201cYou want to be prepared to do what we need to do on defense, but certainly we\u2019re not going to pass on a great offensive player if they\u2019re there at one of those spots.\u201d<\/p>\n

If there is any offensive player that fits the bill, it would be Cooper Jr. after he enjoyed a stunning 2025 college football<\/a> season.<\/p>\n

Cooper Jr. racked up 937 yards and 13 touchdowns on 69 catches for the Hoosiers in their National Championship-winning season. <\/p>\n

He also made one of the best plays ever witnessed at the collegiate level to keep their perfect season alive.<\/p>\n

In the waning seconds against Penn State<\/a>, Cooper Jr. made a ridiculous toe-tap touchdown with gravity and momentum very much against him. <\/p>\n

That score won the Hoosiers the game to secure an iconic comeback victory. <\/p>\n

The move from Jones does leave questions over their plans in the wide receiver room going forward. <\/p>\n

Jones made a big statement when he franchise tagged George Pickens<\/a> and made it clear he wanted to sign him to a long-term extension.<\/p>\n

The Cowboys also have CeeDee Lamb<\/a> as their main star wide receiver on a whopping four-year, $136 million contract. <\/p>\n
