The Raiders GM also spoke candidly on the Maxx Crosby<\/a> trade for the first time. The Raiders agreed upon a trade to send the Pro Bowl edge rusher to the Baltimore Ravens for draft compensation, but the Ravens ultimately backed out the agreement<\/a> before the start of the new league year.<\/p>\n

While the organization declined to go into detail during the height of the speculation, Spytek acknowledged that the situation required difficult conversations behind the scenes.<\/p>\n

“My relationship with Maxx since I’ve gotten here has been great,” Spytek said. “We had a lot of conversations throughout the season, at the end of the season obviously, through the offseason and obviously we were presented with a difficult decision to make. Things have a way of going a certain way and working out the way they’re supposed to. We welcomed him like he never left, because he really never did.”<\/p>\n
