It\u2019s a great interview, well worth watching, with some fantastic nuggets.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a long, crazy process to get to that point,\u201d he said when asked about what it was like to get the call he was coming back to Denver. \u201cBut I\u2019m happy to be home. Denver is home, man. I\u2019ve made a good connection with the fans out here. I love my teammates. I love my coaches. I love the ownership. I love everything about Denver, so it was great to get a deal done and be able to stay home, where I think I\u2019ll be able to thrive.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was thriving last year, but something unfortunate happened, which that is part of that game. But this year, I don\u2019t think that\u2019s going to happen.\u201d<\/p>\n
Of note, as he told Ian Rapoport and Steve Wyche, he almost returned for the AFC Championship Game. If it had been up to him, he would have played. But with his injury and Bo Nix\u2019s, that leaves some unfinished business from being so good last season and so close.<\/p>\n
\u201cOh, yeah, there is a lot of unfinished business,\u201d Dobbins said. \u201cWhen I went down, when I got hurt, I think I was third or fourth in total rushing yards in the NFL. The thing that hurt my feelings the most was knowing I was right there in the grasp of something special, especially since the injury thing has been so unfortunate for me.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen you look at some people, you say \u2018injury prone.\u2019 You get the rolled ankles, the hamstring strains, whatever you\u2019re getting. The stuff I\u2019m getting is like, done for the season, let\u2019s get some surgery. It\u2019s like \u2018dang, why am I getting these unfortunate things?\u2019 But I\u2019m going to always keep going.\u201d<\/p>\n
Dobbins goes on to say that he sees the injuries as an opportunity to improve as a player and as a man. And you can tell how excited he is for the coming season.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe got an embarrassment of riches on this team of talent,\u201d Dobbins said. \u201cI\u2019m excited. I\u2019m really am. I got hurt, I missed the last seven games in the regular season. I\u2019m fresh. I\u2019m going to be fresh. I\u2019m going to be freshed and I\u2019m going to be pissed off because I\u2019m tired of the unfortunate stuff. And I know that I can do it.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s going to happen this year. I\u2019m telling you, it\u2019s going to be great.\u201d<\/p>\n
