This week, we asked Jacksonville Jaguars fans who they expect to replace Devin Lloyd as the starting linebacker next to Foye Oluokun in 2026.<\/p>\n

The majority of survey respondents believe third-year pro Ventrell Miller will be promoted into the role.<\/p>\n

Miller actually wasn\u2019t that far from earning the starting job last season, but Lloyd ultimately kept his spot. Now, the former is the early leader in the clubhouse to start in 2026, though competition will eventually be added in some form.<\/p>\n

Jacksonville has +190 odds to win the division as of today, according to FanDuel Sportsbook<\/a>. A splashy addition to the linebacker room could change that \u2014 yet it\u2019d be nice to see Miller at least carve out a part-time role, if not become a full-time player. He played just 20% of defensive snaps last season after joining the defense on 46% of plays as a rookie.<\/p>\n

When he has seen the field, Miller has stood out on special teams, but his work on defense has been up and down. The former six-year Gator has a capped ceiling due to his lack of size and unspectacular athleticism; it was always going to be interesting to see how much defensive coordinator and linebacker specialist Anthony Campanile could get out of him. Now that Lloyd is out of the spotlight, the pressure is on Miller that more more.<\/p>\n

I mean, it kind of started out like we were gonna effusively praise, and we finished on a really muted note. Devon Lloyd\u2019s impact on this team is nothing short of having occurred lol<\/p>\n

It\u2019s highly unlikely the Jags can replace Lloyd\u2019s impact last season. That would still be true if the Jags had found a way to keep him. The same with Etienne.
