Jaguars open 75K-square-foot business office at One Tower Court in downtown Jacksonville<\/a><\/p>\nMayor Donna Deegan said the progress shows that Jacksonville has finally broken its stereotype of being a city of renderings that never happened.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll you have to do is look around and see all the cranes in the air. We are no longer a city of renderings. We are on our way,\u201d Deegan said at the One Tower Court grand opening.<\/p>\n
Jaguars President Mark Lamping said the key to turning that corner has been the people who believe in the projects.<\/p>\n
\u201cBehind all these stories, there\u2019s someone who really believes in the cause. In this case, it\u2019s the Khan family who has chosen to invest hundreds of millions of dollars in Downtown Jacksonville when not everyone had that same level of belief,\u201d Lamping said of the Jaguars\u2019 owner.<\/p>\n
The Stadium of the Future is still in the works, but the Jags pointed out that they needed to finish construction on One Tower Court before they could rebuild the stadium, so all the team\u2019s employees would have somewhere to go.<\/p>\n
Just blocks north of the stadium district, the historic Eastside neighborhood will also benefit from all the changes Downtown through the Community Benefits Agreement that was part of the Jaguars\u2019 stadium deal.<\/p>\n
