Maxx Crosby is still in Las Vegas \u2014 and the team is happy to have him.<\/p>\n

He was expected to land in Baltimore earlier this off-season after a trade was struck between the Raiders and Ravens, but he will end up staying in Vegas for at least a little while longer after the Ravens backed out of the deal in early March<\/a>, reportedly over concerns with his physical.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, Raiders general manager John Spytek opened up about Crosby and what went down.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy relationship with Maxx since I\u2019ve gotten here has been great,\u201d Spytek said in a video<\/a> published on the Raiders\u2019 YouTube channel. \u201cWe had a lot of conversations throughout the season, at the end of the season obviously, through the offseason and obviously we were presented with a difficult decision to make.<\/p>\n

\u201cThings have a way of going a certain way and working out the way they\u2019re supposed to. We welcomed him like he never left, because he really never did. Excited to see him work hard and attack the rehab like we know. I know he\u2019s going to be back ready to rock in August this year and have many good years ahead of him still.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Raiders have since been active in free agency as they prepare to make the No. 1 draft pick next month, which is expected to be Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza.<\/p>\n

The Raiders added linebackers Nakobe Dean and Quay Walker, as well as defensive linemen Kwity Paye and Malcolm Koonce, to help a unit \u2014 led by Crosby \u2014 that is poised to lead in 2026, so long as he remains on the roster through the offseason.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt kind of happened at the same time,\u201d Spytek said of the linebacker signings. \u201cThey both started to show a lot of interest in coming here\u2026 When people start to seek you out a little bit, think the Silver and Black, and the Raiders and Las Vegas is where I want to go. That\u2019s a neat thing to be a part of.\u201d<\/p>\n
