The Denver Broncos<\/a> are prepared to purchase Burham Yard<\/a> from the state of Colorado for $45,809,900, according to a report from Andrew Kenney of Denverite.com<\/a>. Burnham Yard is the team’s preferred site to build a new NFL stadium<\/a>.<\/p>\n The state acquired the 58-acre property for $50 million in 2021, so the sale to the Broncos will be at a loss, but the team’s purchase price is “exactly enough” to cover the loan the state took to purchase the property five years ago, according to Kenney. That loan starts to become due in May, and a state spokesperson told Kenney that the team is expected to complete the purchase in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n In response to that story, KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis tweeted that no deal is “finalized or signed” yet.<\/p>\n Kenney reports the Broncos “plan to obtain construction permits” as early as January 2027, and the team has previously said they hope to have a new stadium built in time for the 2031 season<\/a>.<\/p>\n The team has reportedly already purchased at least $146 million<\/a> worth of properties around Burnham Yard, and more private sales still need to be made to secure the full site. It’s a big process, and the team’s still working through it, but Burham Yard plans appear to be moving forward.<\/p>\n Need a news break?
