That message rang true on Tuesday, May 27, as BYU football landed a signing from Alai Kalaniuvalu, an offensive line recruit in the class of 2025.<\/p>\n
BYU football adds former Oregon signee Alai Kalaniuvalu<\/p>\n
Welcome to the Family @AKalaniuvalu<\/a> \ud83e\udd19 pic.twitter.com\/uMpmuhIjPw<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 BYU FOOTBALL (@BYUfootball) May 28, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n If the name sounds familiar, you\u2019re right, Kalaniuvalu was once a BYU commit<\/a>.<\/p>\n However, during the Early Signing Period<\/a> last December, he signed with the Oregon Ducks, the school to which he was initially committed, instead of signing with BYU.<\/p>\n The four-star interior offensive lineman is back on the board for BYU.<\/p>\n BYU football officially announced Kalaniuvalu\u2019s signing on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n Kalaniuvalu is a four-star offensive line prospect out of Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas. Before he concluded his prep career in Las Vegas, Kalaniuvalu played at Timpview High School in nearby Provo.<\/p>\n BYU got into the picture for Kalaniuvalu, extending an offer to him before his sophomore season at Timpview High in 2022.<\/p>\n One of the top interior offensive linemen in the country<\/p>\n The 6-foot-4, 311-pound Kalaniuvalu is BYU\u2019s highest-rated high school signee in the class of 2025. He\u2019s the eighth-highest rated recruit BYU has landed since 2000, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.<\/p>\n Kalaniuvalu was rated as the 109th-ranked recruit nationally in the class of 2025. He ranked as the sixth-best interior offensive lineman in the class.<\/p>\n Kalaniuvalu ends up at BYU over offers from programs such as Oregon, Nebraska, USC, Utah, and Michigan.
