While Kansas City Chiefs<\/a> quarterback Patrick Mahomes recovers from an ACL tear, he\u2019s also spending quality time with his wife, Brittany Mahomes, and their three children, Sterling, 5, Bronze, 3, and Golden, 1.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that\u2019s kind of pushed me through some of those mental hurdles, and that, as well as having a great wife that is able to keep me involved with the kids,\u201d Mahomes told reporters in January.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd the kids understanding that dad can\u2019t necessarily be the dad that I usually am, throwing them around the couches and stuff like that. I think that\u2019s been good for my mental is just being around the kids, and being around the family and have a lot of great people around me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Throughout the NFL<\/a> season, Brittany and the kids cheer on Mahomes and the Chiefs every week. During the offseason, it\u2019s time for the three-time Super Bowl MVP to cheer on his wife, who\u2019s now officially a Hall of Famer.<\/p>\n

Brittany attended the University of Texas at Tyler, where she played on the school\u2019s soccer team. Brittany, along with Dr. Howard Patterson and the 2016 Softball Team, comprised the department\u2019s sixth class to be inducted into the UT Tyler Athletics Hall of Fame on March 28.<\/p>\n

When Brittany went on stage to accept her award, Mahomes stood up to applaud. The two-time league MVP shared a video<\/a> of the special moment on his Instagram Stories.<\/p>\n

Brittany \u201cput together one of the strongest careers in UT Tyler women\u2019s soccer history from 2013-2016,\u201d UT Tyler Athletics stated<\/a>. \u201cShe stands second all-time in total points (78) and goals (31), third in game-winning goals (10) and assists (16), and tied for third in total games played (74).<\/p>\n

She also put together arguably the best single-season in program history in 2016, scoring the most points (40), goals (18), and game-winning goals (7). In that same season, she posted four different games with three goals, tied for the best mark in program history for a single match.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brittany didn\u2019t just return to East Texas for the award, she also wants to help shine a spotlight on her alma mater.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m incredibly honored to be here and get recognized in this way in my hometown,\u201d Mahomes said, per CBS 19<\/a>. \u201cTyler was a huge part of my life and how I continue to live my life to this day\u2026 Those four years that I had here I truly cherish, and they are a big part of who I am today.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to see it continue to get visibility and opportunity,\u201d she continued. \u201cThat\u2019s a big part of my passion.\u201d<\/p>\n

During her speech, the KC Current co-owner announced a partnership with the women\u2019s soccer program and Adidas through \u201cTeam Mahomes\u201d that starts in fall 2026. Much like what Mahomes does with the Texas Tech Red Raiders<\/a>, the Patriots soccer team will receive branded gear and uniforms.<\/p>\n
