It\u2019s certainly possible that the Los Angeles Rams draft a wide receiver early in the upcoming NFL Draft. Whether it\u2019s wanting to get someone to back up Davante Adams, wanting someone to backup Puka Nacua, or to get a player who can help L.A. right away, it appears that the Rams have a number of reasons to grab a wide receiver.<\/p>\n

Will they do this? I am almost certain they will grab a WR (not a hot take), but they don\u2019t have to grab anyone right away. Do you want the Rams to address the wide receiver position early? Early and often? Late? Maybe there is a player that you prefer over another.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not sure what I want the Rams to do other than win a Super Bowl this year. I suppose that\u2019s every year.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Los Angeles Rams<\/a> are in a win-now era that will eventually need to turn into a future-building one. Matthew Stafford is 38 but decided to run it back for another year with L.A., while the Rams have several high-profile stars entering pivotal contract years.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, the Rams have a lot of picks to work with in the 2026 NFL draft. Even after they moved the No. 29 pick in a package for Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie, the Rams have three picks in the first 93 selections, including No. 13 overall.\u201c<\/p>\n

\u201cIn article from Yahoo Sports<\/a>, T.J. Houshmandzadeh shares his take on what the Los Angeles Rams approach in the 2026 NFL Draft should be to avoid a market-setting contract.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you\u2019re the Rams, do you want to stay in this business at the cost that it\u2019s going to cost you to stay in this business?\u201d Houshmandzadeh asked.<\/p>\n

The former pro-bowler focused on roster construction in his argument. He claims that drafting a top wide receiver prospect adds leverage and flexibility, rather than locking the Rams in a record-breaking extension.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf they draft a receiver in the first round, I don\u2019t know if they [are] signing Puka to an extension,\u201d Houshmandzadeh said in the Speakeasy podcast<\/a>. \u201cFranchising next season, not this upcoming season, the following season, and trading.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI texted him, been trying to get him on the phone because I talk to him like he\u2019s my son. I don\u2019t talk to him like, \u2018Hey, bro.\u2019 I\u2019m going to give it to him the real and raw way because you\u2019ve got to hear these words,\u201d Houshmandzadeh said on \u201cSpeakeasy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Houshmandzadeh told Nacua that every time he goes out, he should pay $1,000 for security, just to be safe.<\/p>\n

\u201cI told him, I said, \u2018Puka, when you go out, you probably don\u2019t feel like you need this. Bro, just go ahead and spend that thousand dollars every time you step out into these streets and get security. Just pay it because now, you\u2019re going to spend $100K on an attorney. That\u2019s a hundred nights out right there.
