The Baltimore Ravens are mostly done in free agency<\/a>. The period has almost completely died down, and while there are still some talented pieces scattered around the market, the 2026 NFL Draft is starting to take center stage.<\/p>\n

Some of the nation\u2019s top prospects are taking their top-30 visits, as NFL teams have the opportunity to get to know the players who have caught their eye on tape. For the Ravens, they\u2019ve officially brought in five players on such visits<\/a>. That includes Ohio State defensive tackle Kayden McDonald.<\/p>\n

In 2025, Baltimore\u2019s defensive line was the team\u2019s Achilles\u2019 heel. They couldn\u2019t get any sort of pressure off the edge or from the interior. After signing Trey Hendrickson<\/a>, they\u2019re on pace to make that a game-changing unit, and potentially adding McDonald into that equation would be the final piece to the puzzle. They would be a force to be reckoned with.<\/p>\n

At its current state, the Ravens\u2019 defensive front has Hendrickson and Mike Green off the edge, and Travis Jones and Nnamdi Madubuike on the interior. Veteran nose tackle John Jenkins is currently that last piece if head coach Jesse Minter opts to run a 3-4 defense. McDonald would be a significant upgrade.<\/p>\n

While Jenkins had a strong 2025 campaign<\/a> and, in all honesty, was one of Baltimore\u2019s more consistent players, he\u2019s also 36 years old. McDonald would bring youth and a very high ceiling to Charm City if selected by the Ravens.<\/p>\n

Madubuike is an exceptional pass-rusher from the interior, Jones makes a major impact against both the run and pass, and McDonald would be that stout, go-to run defender. At Ohio State, he was a monster in short-yardage situations, playing an essential part in their red zone defense, and making nine tackles for a loss last season.<\/p>\n

McDonald\u2019s instincts in the run game are out of this world. He effortlessly collapses on running lanes and eats double teams for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. His technique is a step behind, but already has the size, awareness, quickness, and play strength to wreck opposing offensive lines. Throw in technical development to further his pass-rush play, and you\u2019d have a fearsome defensive lineman.<\/p>\n

Pick 14 is probably a bit too rich for McDonald. The Ravens are no strangers to trading down, though, and with their new head coach, Jesse Minter, being a defensive-minded guy, they could find themselves in a position to draft McDonald. <\/p>\n

Ultimately, Baltimore may not be a realistic landing spot for the 21-year-old. Their other needs, like wide receiver and interior offensive line, are just too urgent. McDonald would be a really fun addition, but would it make the most sense?
