Los Angeles Rams<\/a> general manager Les Snead<\/a> has set the bar high in terms of bold moves to outfit the roster as well as possible in the twilight of Matthew Stafford<\/a>\u2019s career, and there is an argument for Cleveland Browns<\/a> star Myles Garrett<\/a> being the next blockbuster.<\/p>\n

Garrett\u2019s availability is said to be moot. However, the Browns\u2019 recent decision to adjust his contract offered no financial benefit. It does allow greater trade flexibility, fueling speculation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As such, teams like the Rams have been linked to the two-time Defensive Player of the Year.<\/p>\n

Rams Trade Idea Aims for Browns EDGE Myles Garrett\"Myles<\/p>\n

Browns brass has said they did not make the move to trade Garrett. Few onlookers have accepted that at face value. Trading Garrett could still induce a significant cap hit for the Browns. It is far more plausible that he could go to a team like the Rams after the change, though.<\/p>\n

Bleacher Report\u2019s Gary Davenport listed the Rams as one of eight teams that \u201cmake the most sense\u201d for Garrett. He is a seven-time Pro Bowler and five-time First Team All-Pro.<\/p>\n

Davenport cited SB Nation\u2019s Blaine Grisak, who supposed a deal could start like this:<\/p>\n

Browns get:<\/p>\n

Grisak noted<\/a> in his piece from March 26 that it could (and likely would) require even more to consummate a deal with the Browns, but also that Garrett had more sacks than Verse and Young combined during the 2025 regular season.<\/p>\n

\u201cYoung and Verse are a solid young duo of pass-rushers. But the former is entering a contract year after 12 sacks in 2025, and Verse will soon be looking for a fat payday as well. The Rams are going to have to spend that money eventually,\u201d Davenport wrote<\/a> in his article, which was published on March 28<\/p>\n

\u201cThe question is whether Garrett is a big enough upgrade over say Young to justify sending a top-15 pick and a 2027 first-rounder to Cleveland to obtain him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davenport concluded the \u201cRams defense would be terrifying with Garrett.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rams Could Face Big Bidding War\"Cleveland<\/p>\n

The biggest issue the Rams face is that, while they are well-equipped and positioned to go all-in on another blockbuster trade\u2013they already acquired Trent McDuffie<\/a> from the Kansas City Chiefs<\/a>\u2013they will also face a slew of competing suitors for Garrett if he were available in a trade.<\/p>\n

Davenport listed seven other teams, including fellow NFC squads in the Chicago Bears<\/a>, Philadelphia Eagles<\/a>, San Francisco 49ers<\/a>, and Seattle Seahawks<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There are teams like<\/a> the Dallas Cowboys<\/a>, who have two first-rounders, too.<\/p>\n

The Rams had that advantage. They cut their buying power in their trade for McDuffie. They could need him to flex his no-trade clause and force his way to LA to avoid paying the premium of a bidding war.<\/p>\n

The Rams also have several contract situations to navigate with players already on their roster, including Young, star wide receiver Puka Nacua<\/a>, and defensive lineman Kobie Turner<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The odds remain stacked against a trade for Garrett, as fearsome as he might make the Rams.<\/p>\n
