Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp, and Rashid Shaheed are all currently on big contracts.

One of those players, according to Bleacher Report’s Brad Gagnon, is the most overpaid player on the team. And of those three, All-Pro receiver Kupp is the most overpaid player thanks to his $35.5 million deal.

Cooper Kupp named most overpaid Seahawks player

“The former Offensive Player of the Year didn’t have a bad 2025 season for a 32-year-old non-centerpiece, but that’s sort of the point,” Gagnon writes. “He’s slated to cost the team $35.5 million over the course of the next two seasons despite the fact that he was targeted just 4.4 times per game in his debut campaign with the Seahawks.”

Seattle is spending a ton of money on their wide receiver room, but of the trio of Smith-Njigba, Shaheed, and Kupp, the former Los Angeles Rams star is the most overpaid player of the bunch.

It makes a lot of sense. Smith-Njigba is coming off one of the best seasons from a WR ever, while Shaheed, a mid-season trade pickup, just signed an extension after making the All-Pro team in 2025 thanks to his returner prowess.

More: Rashid Shaheed for $51 million might be an overpay for the Seahawks

Kupp caught 47 passes for 593 yards and two touchdowns in 2025. He was playing second-fiddle to Smith-Njigba, but he was still a solid player.

In the playoffs, Kupp caught 15 of 23 targets for 157 yards and one touchdown as a quality alternative to Smith-Njigba in the Seahawks three-game Super Bowl run.

His $35.5 million mark over the next two seasons, with cap hits of $17.47 million in 2026 and $18 million in 2027, is a lot. But if the Seahawks want, they can get out of his deal and save $14 million in cap space in 2028.

Kupp might be the most overpaid player on the Seahawks, but thanks to the massive contracts of Smith-Njigba and Devon Witherspoon not hitting just yet, this isn’t such a bad deal, even though Gagnon called Kupp the most overpaid player on the team.

More Seahawks news:

The Seattle Seahawks are coming off a Super Bowl run where they managed to beat the New England…

[2081
7,6,238,237,261,2635
0":"post-841587","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-seattle-seahawks","8":"tag-football","9":"tag-nfl","10":"tag-seahawks","11":"tag-seattle","12":"tag-seattle-seahawks","13":"tag-seattleseahawks
["GET
