The RAS scale ranges from 0-10, and the closer to 10 a player scores, the better the athlete.

While a player’s athletic testing certainly isn’t the be-all, end-all when it comes to the evaluation process, it very much is something that NFL teams pay attention to.

Here are this year’s standout performers from the tight end position.

Expert NFL picks: Exclusive betting insights only at USA TODAY.Sam Roush, Stanford

RAS: 9.99

Roush caught 49 passes for 545 yards with two touchdowns this past season. Nearly 50% of Roush’s snaps came as a blocker, according to PFF.

Evan Svoboda, Wyoming

RAS: 9.87

Svoboda caught just 10 passes last season for 87 yards with a touchdown. The bulk of his snaps came as a blocker.

Oscar Delp, Georgia

RAS: 9.82

Almost 70% of Delp’s snaps last season came as a blocker. He’s been a reliable target, catching 70% of those passes and recording 24 touchdowns.

John Michael Gyllenborg, Wyoming

RAS: 9.72

Gyllenborg has been targeted 120 times over the last three seasons. He’s caught 65% of those passes for 1,008 yards with seven touchdowns. His most productive year came in 2024, when Gyllenbord totaled 437 yards.
