The Cleveland Browns<\/a> enter the seventh NFL Draft with general manager Andrew Berry calling the shots. His drafts have mostly been a mixed back, but his recent success in 2025 does provide a glimmer of optimism for the 2026 NFL Draft<\/a> coming up in less than a month.<\/p>\n Meeting with the media at the NFL owners’ meeting, Berry even spoke on what the thought process of the team was as they get set to come on the clock with the sixth overall pick in the draft. Remaining coy with his process at the owners’ meeting, here is what Berry had to say<\/a> on picking sixth in the draft:<\/p>\n “I don’t know that we are going to be picking six at the end of April, and if we are picking six, I have no idea what we’re going to take at this point.”<\/p>\n The Browns want to trade down<\/p>\n Berry said it himself. They aren’t even sure they will be picking with the sixth overall pick. And given the lack of a quarterback of the future, the best thing the Browns could do is to continue to stockpile picks into next year. If there is a trade-down offer on the table, it is hard to envision that the brass in Berea would not take that deal.<\/p>\n Need a news break? Berry himself has stated that the expectations are more modest this year than what they expect next year, so moving picks back makes all the sense in the world.<\/p>\n Potential NFL Draft targets early on<\/p>\n Whether picking sixth overall or not, the two positions frequently mocked to the Browns are offensive tackle and wide receiver.<\/p>\n If the Browns opt for an offensive tackle early, the main targets have been Miami’s Francis Mauigoa, Utah’s Spencer Fano, and Georgia’s Monroe Freeling<\/a>. The Georgia offensive tackle has been a massive riser well before the NFL Combine, and his performance in Indianapolis has made him a favorite to land with the Browns in mock drafts<\/a>.<\/p>\n If they opt for wide receiver early, the options are likely either Ohio State’s Carnell Tate or USC’s Makai Lemon. With the medicals continuing to hamper the pre-draft process of Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson, there is real smoke that his draft stock could be trending in the wrong direction.<\/p>\n
