The Atlanta Falcons<\/a>‘ quarterback position is going to be a fascinating watch this offseason for a variety of reasons.<\/p>\n

One will be how Michael Penix Jr. recovers from his ACL injury and whether he can push for a Week 1 start, and the other will be how Tua Tagovailoa begins his career redemption tour.<\/p>\n

Set to be a quarterback battle under head coach Kevin Stefanski, Tua will likely get reps to begin the offseason as Penix rehabs his injured knee.<\/p>\n

And speaking of that, how is Penix progressing?<\/p>\n

“I’m excited for Mike to get back out there,” Stefanski said via NFL.com<\/a>. “He has the right attitude. He is in the building every day, all day, rehabbing to get ready to go. I don’t have a timeline on what that looks like or when that will happen, but he’ll be ready to put his best foot forward. He’s focusing on what he needs to focus on right now, which is the main thing, which is getting healthy.”<\/p>\n

Who will be Falcons’ starting QB?<\/p>\n

That is quite a conversation starter.<\/p>\n

Both Tua and Penix will see themselves as the starter under Stefanski, but we get the sense that Tagovailoa will have the inside track, at least initially, due to Penix’s injury.<\/p>\n

But once both are healthy, it will be a fascinating battle, and I think whoever “wins” the job will be on a short leash in 2026.<\/p>\n

The Falcons have two starting-caliber quarterbacks to enter the offseason with, and who will emerge as the frontrunner is anyone’s guess.<\/p>\n

Can Penix show he is franchise-quarterback-worthy? Or will Tua prove that his last few seasons in Miami didn’t show him in his true light?<\/p>\n

Let the battle commence.<\/p>\n
