Three weeks into NFL free agency, the Arizona Cardinals<\/a> are basically done tinkering with their roster. They have added several players, without any that are really exciting.<\/p>\n Are they a better team than they were before free agency? That is the big question, and it isn’t really clear in free agency rankings by ESPN’s Ben Solak<\/a>.<\/p>\n Determining who improved the most in the offseason so far, the Cardinals come in right in the middle of the pack at No. 16.<\/p>\n Solak liked the Cardinals’ three-year deal with guard Isaac Seumalo. He was surprised at signing Tyler Allgeier, saying “his skill set is fairly redundant with\u00a0James Conner.” To that, you have to recognize that Conner is nearly 31 years old, is coming of a seriors ankle injury and didn’t look explosive in the three games he played last year. The Cardinals need redundancy.<\/p>\n He was not a fan of what they did at quarterback (who could be?).<\/p>\n Need a news break? Check out the all new PLAY hub with puzzles, games and more!<\/a><\/p>\n I’d guess the Cardinals checked in on Malik Willis’ market but were unwilling to pay him a contract as large as the Dolphins’ offer — a fair and prudent choice. But I sure wish there was a Plan B somewhere between Willis and signing Minshew to compete with Jacoby Brissett! What year is it? 2021? The Cardinals are at least still able to draft a middle-round quarterback or trade for a young passer before camp, which would improve their stock here.<\/p>\n We will see what they do there.<\/p>\n Sadly, at the end of the day, the Cardinals were a three-win team in 2025 and they aren’t noticeably better on paper.
