With the 2026 NFL Draft just under a month away, the Seattle Seahawks are set to host Missouri edge rusher Zion Young for a Top 30 visit this week. Arye Pulli was on it first.<\/p>\n
Young is an intriguing Mike Macdonald style prospect. This breakdown<\/a> from November, (which I previously mentioned when discussing<\/a> Akheem Mesidor in January) details Young as one of the best play-style fits at the edge position in a deep class. Back then, his stock had him firmly as a Day 2 prospect, but after an excellent season where he showed prowess as a pass rusher and run defender, most chatter has him as a top 50 guy.<\/p>\n What he lacks in speed, he makes up for with power and versatility on tape. He was a First-team All-SEC selection in 2025, and showed out among draft prospects the Senior Bowl, too, being named the American Team\u2019s Player of the Game.<\/p>\n Young\u2019s pro day testing confirmed the viability of his winning athletic traits as an NFL prospect.<\/p>\n With Boye Mafe having left to sign with the Cincinnati Bengals for a hefty $20 million per year in free agency, there\u2019s a clear opening in Seattle\u2019s outside pass rush rotation. If they don\u2019t elect to trade for a superstar like Myles Garrett, which there has been buzz about this week with his contract restructuring<\/a>, they\u2019ll need to address the position during the draft. Young is one of the top candidates for this team if they go that route and like his style. Whether he ends up being available at No. 32, or even sits around into the second round will be a fascinating question. However, the play style warranted a meeting with the Seahawks this week, and possibly more.<\/p>\n
