Mock drafts<\/a> continue to fly left and right as the 2026 NFL Draft<\/a> rapidly approaches, and one hot take from CBS Sports has the Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a> selecting both their wide receiver and quarterback of the future in a blockbuster trade with the Seattle Seahawks.<\/p>\n

In a new mock draft made by CBS Sports’ Ryan Wilson, the Steelers<\/a> selected standout Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson<\/a> with the 21st overall pick and traded back into the first round to pick up Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson with the 32nd overall selection.<\/p>\n

“The Steelers have 12 picks, so they package two of them — Nos. 53 and 76 — to move up to No. 32 and take Simpson,” Wilson wrote.<\/a> “Yes, next year’s QB class is LOADED \u2026 but don’t we say that every single year, and every single year it’s never quite as loaded as we all predicted? Meanwhile, midway through the season, we talked about Simpson being in the running for QB1 until injuries changed the conversation.”<\/p>\n

Catching 136 passes for 1,812 yards and 18 touchdowns in 21 games with Arizona State, Tyson was at one point projected to be a top-10 pick, but injury concerns have seemingly led some to believe he could fall to Pittsburgh at pick No. 21.<\/p>\n

Simpson, one of the more polarizing quarterback prospects, doesn’t have the starting experience of some of his other classmates but has often been regarded as a high-upside signal-caller.<\/p>\n
