The Green Bay Packers<\/a> said goodbye to one backup quarterback this offseason after watching Malik Willis<\/a> sign a $67.5 million contract with the Miami Dolphins<\/a>. They\u2019ve yet to replace his spot in the QB room. <\/p>\n

While the Packers have Desmond Ridder and Kyle McCord as the backups to Jordan Love<\/a>, they don\u2019t inspire any confidence should Love be forced out of action, as he was in each of the past two seasons. Yet, the Packers have internally been discussing adding another QB, one with 14 seasons of NFL experience.<\/p>\n

According to Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst, Green Bay has weighed the possibility of signing free agent QB Kirk Cousins<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, we\u2019ve discussed a lot<\/a> of those options. Obviously, that\u2019s a guy who\u2019s got a lot of pelts on the wall in this league, so we\u2019ve certainly discussed all those kind of things.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cousins spent two seasons being coached by Packers head coach Matt LaFleur from 2012 to 2013 in Washington, so there\u2019s already some strong familiarity here. Cousins himself may welcome the potential partnership. <\/p>\n

Yet, Cousins may be holding out for a better opportunity to see the field in 2026. Though, that chance may not present itself with most starting jobs already filled. What is clear is that Cousins is a popular target among league circles, with him also being linked to Las Vegas<\/a> and the Los Angeles Rams<\/a>.<\/p>\n
