They already addressed arguably their biggest need in the offseason, swinging a trade [for cornerback] Trent McDuffie to Los Angeles. The Rams also have one of the best one-two punches in the league at wide receiver in Puka Nacua and Davante Adams,” Davenport wrote. “The team could use an upgrade at the third wideout spot, though, and there are some veterans still looking for work who would fit that bill.”

“Keenan Allen has reportedly indicated that if he plays at all in 2026, he wants it to be for the [Los Angeles] Chargers. But he might reconsider if he can stay in L.A.—and potentially have an even better shot at a Super Bowl than he would with the Bolts… The 33-year-old hasn’t had a 1,000-yard season since 2023, but as his 81 catches for 777 yards last year indicate, he can still add value to an NFL offense as an underneath target.”

Nacua and Adams were the obvious first and second options for MVP Matthew Stafford, accounting for more than half of the quarterbacks’ throwing yards and touchdown passes.

Xavier Smith, the next best receiver on the roster, recorded 303 receiving yards in the 2025 season, over 400 yards less than what Adams totaled in his first season with the Rams.

Allen had a better season than the bottom four wide receivers on the Rams’ offense and had an equivalent season to Adams in terms of receiving yards, just minus 10 touchdown receptions.

Going from Justin Herbert to Matthew Stafford isn’t a bad option for Keenan Allen’s career and it puts him on a roster that has one of the best chances to win the Super Bowl next season.

Why Keenan Allen Won’t Fit with the use the 13-man personnel (1 running back and 3 tight ends) the most in the league.

After Davante Adams, four of the next six performing receiving options were tight ends.

<a two-year deal after mulling retirement, signaling that the Rams will continue using the scheme, which means Keenan Allen would get fewer snaps if he were to sign with the organization.

But if Sean McVay and the new offensive coordinators create a new scheme and use the 13-man personnel less, then the Rams would have one of the best receiving trios in the league.

 <a
