With a 2026 contest in the Emerald City, the <a href=\"http:\/\/ArrowheadPride.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kansas City Chiefs<\/a> would nominally be a strong candidate for the showcase appearance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">The NFL schedule will drop on May 14. That date will be too early to know the Week 1 status of quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who is attempting to be ready to open the season after tearing multiple knee ligaments late in the 2025 campaign.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Mahomes has continually insisted that his goal is to be ready to start the season, and he took league media by storm last week by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arrowheadpride.com\/kansas-city-chiefs-injuries\/197442\/chiefs-patrick-mahomes-shows-off-recovery-progress-with-video-throwing\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">releasing via social media<\/a> a video of him throwing. His overall timeline remains uncertain, and missing the first part of the 2026 season <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arrowheadpride.com\/kansas-city-chiefs-injuries\/197463\/ian-rapoport-uncertaintychiefs-patrick-mahomes-still-uncertainty\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">remains a possibility<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">The Chiefs will undoubtedly play in primetime multiple times next season.
