ESPN’s Matt Miller releases 7-round mock draft<\/p>\n

The calendar flips to April tomorrow, which means the 2026 NFL Draft is right around the corner.<\/p>\n

Many analysts have recently been updating their projections for the first round<\/a> (and beyond) of this year’s draft.<\/p>\n

ESPN’s Matt Miller took it to another level this week, though, as he released his full, seven-round mock draft<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With the fifth overall pick, Miller predicted a name we have often seen projected to the Giants in mock drafts – Ohio State safety Caleb Downs.<\/p>\n

“Having coached Ed Reed and Kyle Hamilton in Baltimore, Harbaugh knows the value of a versatile, smart safety prospect,” Miller wrote. “That describes Downs, who started immediately at Alabama as a freshman and for two seasons at Ohio State. Pairing him with Jevon Holland would give New York a dynamic duo at safety while needs elsewhere can be addressed later.”<\/p>\n

Downs was phenomenal over his two seasons with the Buckeyes, earning Unanimous All-American, Big Ten Defensive Back of the Year, and first-team All-Big Ten honors after both seasons while playing a big role in Ohio State’s run to a National Championship in 2024.<\/p>\n

After his standout 2025 campaign, the 6-foot, 206-pound safety also took home the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation’s top defensive back, in addition to the Lott Trophy and Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year.<\/p>\n

All of this came after his one dominant campaign at Alabama as a true freshman. That season, he was named SEC Freshman of the Year after registering 107 total tackles (70 solo), two interceptions, four passes defensed, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery across 14 games.<\/p>\n

Miller then has the Giants adding another playmaker to the offense with the 37th overall pick in the form of Texas A&M wide receiver KC Concepcion.<\/p>\n

“Concepcion would further help second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart while adding a playmaker opposite Malik Nabers,” wrote Miller. “Concepcion is an elite yards-after-catch receiver who excels from the slot. He’s a chain mover who would seamlessly replace the departed Wan’Dale Robinson.”<\/p>\n

The 6-feet, 196-pound wideout began his collegiate career at North Carolina State, where he racked up 124 receptions for 1,299 yards and 16 touchdowns across 25 total games as a freshman and sophomore.<\/p>\n

He took home the ACC Rookie of the Year award in 2023, along with the conference’s Offensive Rookie of the Year award, in addition to being named second-team All-ACC.<\/p>\n

Concepcion then transferred to Texas A&M in 2025, where he put together his strongest campaign yet. The talented receiver caught 61 passes for 919 yards and nine touchdowns for the Aggies while also playing a crucial role on special teams. He returned 25 punts for 456 yards, good for an average of 18.2 yards per return, and two touchdowns.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old Rochester, New York native was named Consensus All-American by the Associated Press. He was also selected as first-team All-SEC and took home the Paul Hornung Award, given to the nation’s most versatile player by the Louisville Sports Commission.<\/p>\n
