{"id":84543,"date":"2025-05-28T05:44:09","date_gmt":"2025-05-28T05:44:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/84543\/"},"modified":"2025-05-28T05:44:09","modified_gmt":"2025-05-28T05:44:09","slug":"miami-dolphins-sign-veteran-cornerback-while-placing-one-on-injured-reserve","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/84543\/","title":{"rendered":"Miami Dolphins sign veteran cornerback while placing one on injured reserve"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"0eUZGA\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thephinsider.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Miami Dolphins<\/a> made a couple of moves involving cornerbacks on Monday \u2014 just not involving the one cornerback (Jalen Ramsey) Dolphins fans have been expecting to be on the move for the last few weeks. <\/p>\n<p id=\"5thgQe\">Miami placed Jason Maitre on the injured reserve list and in a corresponding move, signed 23-year-old defensive back Ryan Cooper Jr. to take his place. Cooper returns to the Dolphins after spending a brief period with the club earlier this year. <\/p>\n<p id=\"ZPw6y0\">Cooper entered the league with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baltimorebeatdown.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Baltimore Ravens<\/a> after going undrafted in the 2024 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sbnation.com\/nfl-draft\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NFL Draft<\/a>. He spent the entire season on Baltimore\u2019s practice squad, but did appear in one game for the Ravens last season. <\/p>\n<p id=\"YGxxa4\">Maitre was also an undrafted free agent signing \u2014 originally joining the Miami Dolphins in May of 2024.
