Former Pittsburgh Steelers safety Chuck Clark has signed with the Detroit Lions<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Clark played in 15 games, starting five last season for the Steelers. He recorded 51 tackles (31 solos), two tackles for losses, one quarterback hit, three passes defended and one forced fumble. <\/p>\n

Clark, 30, joined Pittsburgh in July to provide the team with some much needed depth at the position after trading Minkah Fitzpatrick to the Miami Dolphins.<\/p>\n

Clark was starting the Steelers\u2019 starting strong safety instead of Kyle Dugger in the Wild Card game against the Houston Texans. Clark replaced Kyle Dugger, who was benched after a poor performance in the Steelers\u2019 Week 18 win over the Baltimore Ravens. <\/p>\n

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson had touchdown passes from 38, 50 and 64 yards out in Week 18 game against the Steelers. Dugger was exposed on one of those touchdowns, the 64-yard touchdown to Zay Flowers.<\/p>\n

Dugger replaced Clark in the starting lineup in November after a rough game against the Green Bay Packers in Week 8. Dugger was solid for the most part, but fell out of favor late in the season. <\/p>\n

Clark played with the New York Jets in 2023 and 2024. He started 12 games in 2024 after tearing his ACL in the offseason in 2023. He notched 69 combined tackles, two passes defended, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a sack in 2024.<\/p>\n

Before his time with the Jets, Clark spent six seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. He began his NFL career as a sixth-round draft pick in 2017. He joined former Ravens teammates Patrick Queen and DeShon Elliott when he signed with the Steelers last month.<\/p>\n

Clark has played in 123 games during his career, starting 80. He has 504 tackles (309 solos), 4.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, 37 passes defensed, five interceptions and one touchdown in his professional career.<\/p>\n

With the Steelers signing safety Jaquan Brisker in free agency and DeShon Elliott returning, Clark\u2019s services were no longer needed. Former Steelers safeties Jabrill Peppers and Kyle Dugger remain unsigned.<\/p>\n
