Colts owner and CEO Carlie Irsay-Gordon said they\u2019ve entertained the idea of opening to private equity firms, but aren\u2019t considering it at this time.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe certainly looked at [private equity],\u201d Irsay-Gordon said, via ESPN<\/a>. \u201cWe don\u2019t have any intention of doing it now.\u201d<\/p>\n Irsay-Gordon said the stadium needs renovations, and they\u2019re bracing for potential changes to their home.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have a beautiful building that has amazing bones, but we\u2019re going to need to renovate it,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s already almost 20 years old. It\u2019s insane. But a lot\u2019s changed since then\u2026 I think it\u2019s a good thing to be able to have another avenue to diversify your business, get some source of funding if you want to renovate. It\u2019s just another tool.\u201d<\/p>\n Irsay-Gordon added that both HC Shane Steichen and QB Daniel Jones<\/a> are on the same page together and said she views Jones as the CEO and face of the franchise.<\/p>\n \u201cThe quarterback is like the CEO of our football team, basically,\u201d she said. \u201cSo, to have consistency, not just in itself, but to know that we\u2019ve seen a lot of progress from Daniel and that he\u2019s going to hit the ground running once he comes back from this injury, I think it also helps our team have an identity.\u201d<\/p>\n Steichen feels Jones is going about his rehab the right way: \u201cHe\u2019s been through so many different things I don\u2019t think anything is going to faze him anymore.\u201d (Mike Garafolo<\/a>)<\/p>\n Texans G Wyatt Teller<\/a> said he plans on bringing toughness and grit to the team\u2019s offensive line.<\/p>\n \u201cHowever, I can help coming and playing at the best I can be,\u201d Teller said, via Click2Houston<\/a>. \u201cGetting back to what I am good at, being that nasty, gritty player. There was a couple plays in this past year, where there are glimpses of it, but being that consistent player again. All-Pro, Pro Bowl player that can help the Texans win.\u201d<\/p>\n Teller added that QB C.J. Stroud<\/a> began recruiting him this offseason and said that he believes in Stroud\u2019s abilities as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.<\/p>\n \u201cJust getting to talk to him, it was like he was recruiting me and recruiting my wife,\u201d Teller said. \u201cReally, he was just saying wherever you go I know you are going to have success and everything like that but I would love for you to block for me. Just being an enforcer and protector of him. When he is healthy, I don\u2019t know many teams that can beat the Houston Texans. If I can help in any way, not that I need to be Superman or anything like that, but just get back to what I am good at and protect my quarterbacks and running backs.\u201d<\/p>\n Teller, who has played left guard for most of his professional career, admitted that it will take some time to regain muscle memory on the left side of the line.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is like writing with your write hand then learning to write with your left hand,\u201d Teller said. \u201cYou can learn it, but it is going to take some time. You are going to have to relearn. I am not kicking with my right foot back anymore I am going to be kicking back with my left foot. If we are working against one technique or something like that, naturally your post foot drops back. It is not like I haven\u2019t been in a left-handed stance or left guard pass protecting stance for too long. I was talking to Ethan Pocic<\/a> and he was like, \u2018Wyatt, I think you are going to make this transition easy.\u2019 Just the wear and tear of football, I feel like so long I have been throwing that right hand that now I can use that left hand with a strong catch hand. It is not like my left hand isn\u2019t strong, I am just saying it is usually a little different. It is going to be a little weird putting my left hand on the ground at first, but football is a weird sport in general. It is all going to work out.\u201d<\/p>\n Illinois G Josh Gesky had a private workout with the Texans.
