The Miami Dolphins<\/a> have moved on from some of their best players over the last six months or so, trading Jaelan Phillips, Jaylen Waddle and Minkah Fitzpatrick, and releasing Tyreek Hill and Bradley Chubb.<\/p>\n

Now, Miami’s roster is lacking in top-end talent, so the guys who are left are those they want to build around going forward.<\/p>\n

At the top of that list is running back De’Von Achane, who Dolphins<\/a> general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan spoke glowingly about this week at the league meetings in Arizona.<\/p>\n

\u201cAchane is a very, very, very important piece of what we\u2019re going to do moving forward,\u201d Sullivan said. \u201cHe\u2019s a building block for us. It is a priority for us to get a deal done with him in the coming weeks, months.\u201d<\/p>\n

After the trades that they made earlier this offseason, it’s not surprising that teams have been calling about Achane. However, Sullivan makes it clear that he has no intention of moving on from the former second-round pick.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy job is always to listen,\u201d Sullivan said. \u201cNobody\u2019s untouchable in this business. I don\u2019t believe in that, because you never know who\u2019s on the other side of the phone, what they\u2019re going to offer, but there\u2019s zero effort on my end to move Achane.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very excited about him and the future of the Dolphins. He\u2019s a difference-maker for us, and I see him being here and having a lot of success.\u201d<\/p>\n

Through three seasons in the NFL, Achane has rushed for 3,057 yards and 22 touchdowns on 5.6 yards per carry while catching 172 passes for an additional 1,277 yards and 13 touchdowns.<\/p>\n

With the talent around him, Achane has the potential to be the league’s Offensive Player of the Year this year. Miami should do what they can to make sure they pay a player with this ability.<\/p>\n
