{"id":846348,"date":"2026-04-01T04:36:20","date_gmt":"2026-04-01T04:36:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/846348\/"},"modified":"2026-04-01T04:36:20","modified_gmt":"2026-04-01T04:36:20","slug":"espn-drops-brutal-reality-check-for-colts-anthony-richardson-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/846348\/","title":{"rendered":"ESPN drops brutal reality check for Colts&#8217; Anthony Richardson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The situation for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportingnews.com\/us\/nfl\/indianapolis-colts\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Indianapolis Colts<\/a> quarterback Anthony Richardson isn&#8217;t the best.<\/p>\n<p>With the Colts giving Richardson permission to seek a trade away from the franchise this offseason, so far, that has yet to materialize.<\/p>\n<p>And in truth, that likely tells you all you need to know.<\/p>\n<p>Now, the Colts reportedly aren&#8217;t closing the door on Anthony being on the roster in 2026, but in an ideal world, he gets dealt this offseason.<\/p>\n<p>For ESPN&#8217;s Adam Schefter, he dropped a rather brutal update on why nothing has happened for Richardson as far as a trade this offseason.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The market for him was soft,&#8221; Schefter said on the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com.au\/video\/clip\/_\/id\/48358660\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Pat McAfee Show<\/a>. &#8220;If there was a market for him, they would have traded him.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>More:\u00a0<a target=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sportingnews.com\/us\/nfl\/kansas-city-chiefs\/news\/chiefs-draft-jawaan-taylor-replacement-latest-mock-draft\/d9a169f7e24adfcfb5ec7f8e\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Chiefs draft Jawaan Taylor replacement in latest mock draft<\/a><\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s next for Richardson?<\/p>\n<p>Well, he will stay on the Colts&#8217; roster until something happens. If it doesn&#8217;t, he remains a Colt.<\/p>\n<p>The most likely scenario, I think, is that Richardson stays on the roster, and if a quarterback gets injured in training camp, it could be then that a team offers to take Anthony off Indianapolis&#8217; hands.<\/p>\n<p>But other than that, as Schefter stated, there wasn&#8217;t really a market for Richardson, and that tells you how the league currently views him.<\/p>\n<p>It looks like he will remain a Colt, unless something substantial happens over the coming months.<\/p>\n<p>More NFL news:<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The situation for Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson isn&#8217;t the best.
