Patriots quarterback Drake Maye will be sporting a new look this spring.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old QB took part in Granite Telecommunications\u2019 \u201cSaving by Shaving\u201d event benefiting Boston Children\u2019s Hospital on Tuesday \u2014 shaving his head as part of the fundraising endeavor that raised a total of $4.15 million.<\/p>\n

As part of the event, Granite Telecommunications donated $2,500 for every person who shaved their head or donated at least eight inches of hair, with Granite CEO Rob Hale and his family matching, dollar for dollar. \u200b<\/p>\n

Maye was not the only one to embrace the wiffle, as former Patriots offensive lineman Joe Andruzzi, WEEI radio personality Greg Hill, Quincy Mayor Thomas Koch, and Boston Children\u2019s CEO and president Kevin Churchwell all buzzed their heads as well. \u200b<\/p>\n

Maye\u2019s wife, Ann Michael Maye, was on hand for Tuesday\u2019s event \u2014 making the first few rounds with the clippers before turning it over to a few of the professionals.\u200b<\/p>\n

\u201cI cut my grandma\u2019s hair one time, and it looked so horrible,\u201d she told Christopher Price of The Boston Globe<\/a>. \u201cIt was during COVID, and she really needed a haircut, so I gave her a haircut, and it looked so bad. So we\u2019ll see how this goes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Drake Maye and Ann Michae Maye launched \u201cThe MayeDay Family Foundation\u201d last week<\/a> to help children and families in need throughout New England, as well as in the Mayes\u2019 home state of North Carolina.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s one of the biggest things in life to have been blessed to be where I\u2019m at today, and being able to give back,\u201d Drake Maye told Price of his philanthropic efforts. \u201cAnd I know my family, [it was] big, growing up, my parents and being around Ann Michael, we loved being out in the community and trying to, like I said, give back and do things that are bigger than what I do for a living. So, that\u2019s what it\u2019s about.\u201d<\/p>\n
