The Pittsburgh Steelers are hosting Arkansas quarterback Taylen Green for a pre-draft visit, according to Bo Marchionte on Twitter.<\/a> He\u2019s the third quarterback that the Steelers have been reported to bring in, showing their continued interest in the position. The other two signal callers were Miami\u2019s Carson Beck and North Dakota State\u2019s Cole Payton.<\/p>\n

Like those other players, Green isn\u2019t projected to go in the first round. He\u2019s more likely to go off the board on Day 2 or 3. The Steelers have a lot of draft capital, including three third-round picks, so it won\u2019t be surprising if they target a quarterback in that range.<\/p>\n

Green is an interesting prospect, too.<\/a> He started his collegiate career in 2021 at Boise State. While he redshirted his first year, he got more action after that, appearing in 26 games over the next two seasons with Boise State. Green put up 3,794 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions in that time.<\/p>\n

Then, in 2024, he transferred to Arkansas, where he was more productive. Green threw for 5,868 yards, 34 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions in his two seasons at Arkansas.<\/p>\n

However, that isn\u2019t all there is to his game. Green is also an elite athlete. He ran for 777 yards and eight touchdowns last year. Over his entire college career, he ran for 2,405 yards and 35 touchdowns. In today\u2019s NFL, where athletic quarterbacks are more common, Green has an intriguing skill set.<\/p>\n

That includes running a 4.37 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine. He posted the second-best RAS Score, which is used to measure a player\u2019s athletic abilities relative to their position, of any quarterback since 1987, according to Math Bomb on Twitter.<\/a><\/p>\n

Taylen Green is a QB prospect in the 2026 draft class. He scored an unofficial 9.99 RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 2 out of 1052 QB from 1987 to 2026. <\/p>\n

He was the No. 3-ranked quarterback on Bob McGinn\u2019s scouting series,<\/a> showing that some believe in his upside. In a down quarterback class, Green might be worth taking a swing on in the later rounds. While he\u2019s got a lot of work to do as a passer, his athleticism gives him a high ceiling.<\/p>\n

Mike McCarthy is known as a quarterback guru. Green is different from many of the other prospects he\u2019s worked with, but if he can refine his mechanics, the Steelers could have a fun offensive weapon.<\/p>\n
