The NFL currently does not intend to take disciplinary action against former New York Giants<\/a> co-owner Steve Tisch for his involvement with disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have not found anything that\u2019s a violation at this stage,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell told reporters<\/a> during his press conference at the Annual League Meeting in Phoenix on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Tisch has been the Giants’ chairman and co-owner (along with his family) of a 50 percent stake (now 45) since his father, Robert Tisch, passed away in the fall of 2005. The family recently announced they were transferring all of their interest in the team to a trust<\/a> for their children.<\/p>\n

That transaction, which was up for approval during the meetings this week, has apparently been approved. Goodell announced the Tisches were no longer owners of the Giants, although Steve Tisch is still listed as the Giants’ chairman<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The league had vowed to “look into” the affair, but it is believed to be a dead issue after the Tisches decided to relinquish their stake in the ownership group. That transaction took a ton of pressure off Goodell and the NFL, as they would like nothing more than to push any association with Epstein to the back burner.<\/p>\n

Tisch is not in Phoenix this week<\/a> and has not been around the team or its business since the news broke about his association with Epstein earlier this year. He released a statement on January 30 acknowledging the relationship.<\/p>\n

The Giants have not issued a public statement regarding the situation. The Giants are represented by Tisch’s partner, team co-owner John Mara, who is in attendance at the league meetings despite his recent battle with cancer.<\/p>\n
