The Los Angeles Rams are one of the most intriguing teams when it comes to the upcoming NFL draft. They were a couple of plays away from making the Super Bowl, and they have a top 15 pick at their disposal. <\/p>\n

There are a lot of directions the Rams can go with the 13th overall pick, but the most interesting one is adding a weapon to their offense. Matthew Stafford<\/a> will be the reigning MVP next season, and what will likely be his final season. Why not give him another weapon at his disposal?<\/p>\n

First-Round Options\"Puka<\/p>\n

The first and most interesting option is taking a wide receiver like Jordyn Tyson<\/a> and pairing him with Puka Nacua and Davante Adams in their passing game. The Rams’ run game was a big part of their offensive success in 2025, but their bread and butter is their passing game. <\/p>\n

Adams is in the last year of his contract and was even in trade discussions this offseason, so it’s clear the Rams don’t view him as a part of their long-term plan. Another receiver to throw to could be what this offense needs to break through the hump they keep finding in the playoffs. <\/p>\n

Taking on an offensive lineman wouldn’t get Stafford another great pass-catcher, but it would significantly help their offense. Offensive line depth became an issue once Alaric Jackson<\/a> and the rest of their starting offensive lineman faced injuries, which forced the Rams to rely on their backups. <\/p>\n

They lost to the Atlanta Falcons last season primarily because of the pressure they were able to get on Stafford, so this would be a good insurance pick for now and the future. Caleb Lomu would be a perfect Rob Havenstein retirement and could even be their starter as soon as year one. <\/p>\n

\"Ty<\/p>\n

Finally, the Rams have the option of choosing to draft a quarterback in the first round. The only player in consideration would be Ty Simpson<\/a>, and this would be a selection purely with the future in mind. Sean McVay<\/a> would have a year of coaching him up on the bench before he’d be given the keys to the offense. <\/p>\n

I personally don’t like this idea because it wouldn’t help their chances of making the Super Bowl next season, but if they’re able to find their next franchise quarterback, that could lead to them being perennial contenders.
