It\u2019s important to be cautious when reading things on the internet these days, and that\u2019s especially true on April Fools\u2019 Day. So, when a report surfaced that Aaron Rodgers was planning to visit the Denver Broncos, we did a quadruple take.<\/p>\n

The report comes from Pro Football Talk\u2019s Mike Florio<\/a>, who insists this is not some April Fools\u2019 joke.<\/p>\n

Florio reports that \u201cthere\u2019s talk of the Broncos possibly bringing Rodgers in for a visit\u201d and the interest stems from \u201cthe possibility that current starter Bo Nix won\u2019t be fully and completely back to 100 percent\u201d by the start of the season.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd it\u2019s not an April Fool\u2019s Day gag,\u201d Florio added. The Broncos could be turning to Rodgers, at a time when the Steelers have assumed the position for the second straight offseason.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nix suffered a fractured ankle<\/a> in the playoffs, but his recovery shouldn\u2019t take that long. In fact, general manager George Paton said during the NFL Annual Meeting this week that Nix was expected to be ready to roll<\/a> by OTAs (organized team activities), which is well before the season rolls around.<\/p>\n

A source battle over Broncos-Rodgers rumor\"\"<\/p>\n

In the wake of Florio\u2019s report, Broncos beat writer, Mike Klis of 9News<\/a>, refuted it, saying a source is telling him that there\u2019s a \u201czero percent\u201d chance Rodgers will visit Denver and the report from Florio \u201cmust be an April Fool\u2019s joke.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cReport Broncos have interest in Aaron Rodgers must be an April Fool\u2019s joke,\u201d Klis wrote on X. \u201cSource says \u2018zero percent\u2019 chance of this happening. As Greg Penner, Sean Payton and George Paton just said at NFL meetings, QB Bo Nix will be ready by start of offseason program on May 4. Full go by start of OTAs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Just what we love to see: a good old-fashioned source battle.<\/p>\n

Who\u2019s right in the Aaron Rodgers source battle?\"NaN\"<\/p>\n

We have to lean with Klis on this one, and for several reasons.<\/p>\n

First and foremost, Klis is way more connected to the Broncos than a national reporter like Florio.<\/p>\n

Adding to that, the Broncos just told us that Nix is going to be ready well before the start of the 2026 season, so it makes zero sense to even give Rodgers a look.<\/p>\n

We also have to wonder if this is a ploy by Rodgers to put some pressure on the Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a> in order get more money from them.<\/p>\n

There hasn\u2019t been any rumors suggesting Rodgers is looking for a bigger payday than the meager $13.6 million deal he got last season, but former Steelers quarterback Charlie Batch recently surmised that Rodgers hasn\u2019t signed because he wants more money<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The phrase \u201cnever say never\u201d is often thrown around in the NFL, and for good reason, as things can change on a dime.<\/p>\n
