April Fools Day brought one of the more surprising NFL<\/a> storylines on Wednesday, April 1 when Pro Football Talk insider Mike Florio suggested the Denver Broncos<\/a> were interesting in bringing Aaron Rodgers<\/a> in for a workout.<\/p>\n

“There\u2019s talk of the Broncos possibly bringing Rodgers in for a visit. The motivation comes from the possibility that current starter Bo Nix won\u2019t be fully and completely back to 100 percent when Week 1 rolls around,” Pro Football Talk reported this morning<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Florio made it clear this wasn’t an April Fools’ Day gag.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s all very early. And it\u2019s not an April Fool\u2019s Day gag. The Broncos could be turning to Rodgers, at a time when the Steelers have assumed the position for the second straight offseason.”<\/p>\n

Broncos insider Benjamin Allbright didn’t take long to respond to the rumors.<\/p>\n

“The Broncos are not lurking. They don\u2019t have an eye on it,” he said in a report on social media. “It is, per source ‘made up’ It is April 1, so that\u2019s the theory on its origins, from Broncos brass.”<\/p>\n

Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy made it clear earlier this week that he’s had several conversations with Rodgers over the past few months regarding the 2026 season. <\/p>\n

“I’ve talked to Aaron regularly and will continue to do so. We’re just working through it. When it’s time to fully address it we will, but it’s a process that he’s going through and I’m comfortable with it. We’ve had very, very positive conversations on a weekly basis,” he said at the time.<\/p>\n

Rodgers to the Broncos doesn’t appear to be more than smoke at this point.<\/p>\n
