That 19-year streak is an NFL record. Additionally, he guided the franchise to 13 playoff appearances, eight division titles, three AFC Championship game appearances, multiple Super Bowl appearances, and a Super Bowl title. In between the time when Rodgers took over (2008) and when McCarthy was let go (2018), the Packers would make eight playoff appearances, win five division titles, earn three NFC Championship game trips, and take home a Super Bowl.

In Dallas, the Cowboys were one of the league’s best regular-season teams. McCarthy guided the franchise to three consecutive 12-win seasons (2021-2023). However, Dallas was unable to fully climb the mountain in the postseason.

Now in Pittsburgh, McCarthy has the chance to build another winner. Led by his old quarterback, who could be returning for a 22nd NFL season in Rodgers, the Steelers are ready to be a playoff team right away. The question is whether or not it can get back to and win the Super Bowl for the first time in over 15 years.

Tim Lindsey A Chicago-area native, Tim Lindsey has covered the world of sports through a variety of different lenses.
