Bills head coach makes feelings clear on DJ Moore.<\/p>\n
The Buffalo Bills<\/a> made a bold move to acquire DJ Moore, and the team expects him to make other players better.<\/p>\n Moore will be the team\u2019s No. 1 receiver, which the Bills have been missing for a couple of years now. And, new head coach Joe Brady is eager to reunite with Moore after having been his offensive coordinator for two seasons with the Carolina Panthers<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cDJ has a unique skill set,\u201d Brady said<\/a>. \u201cHe can play inside, he can play outside, he can run-block. He makes dynamic plays down the field.\u201d<\/p>\n Not only does Moore give the Bills a true No. 1 receiver, but he is also confident the star receiver will make everyone else better.<\/p>\n \u201cHaving a guy like DJ it\u2019s going to help both of them,\u201d Brady said. \u201c[Defenses] can\u2019t just focus on one particular person. It gives us another layer of somebody on the outside. Khalil and Dalton have attacked a lot of the middle of the field, a lot of the inside zones<\/p>\n \u201c\u2026 It was important to get a skill set like DJ, a guy that can stretch it, can win one-on-one, can get the ball in his hands, and he can win on a slant.\u201d<\/p>\n Moore recorded 85 receptions for 682 yards and 6 touchdowns<\/a> last season with the Chicago Bears<\/a>.<\/p>\n Bills Could Add More Receivers<\/p>\n Although the Bills traded for Moore, the team could still add more to the receiver unit.<\/p>\n Buffalo is still keeping the door open<\/a> to re-sign receiver Brandin Cooks, according to general manager Brandon Beane.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve had conversations not only with his agent, but with him as well,\u201d Beane said. \u201cReally love what he did for us at the end of the season last year. I think, kind of what I said, seeing how the draft falls, seeing what our numbers are. I think that\u2019s kind of where he\u2019s at, too, making sure he doesn\u2019t go somewhere and a team drafts someone\u00a0high.\u201d<\/p>\n Cooks signed with the Bills after the trade deadline and immediately made an impact for the team. He ended up being the team\u2019s No. 1 receiver down the stretch, and bringing him back makes a ton of sense.<\/p>\n Brady Starting Over in Buffalo<\/p>\n Although Brady was the Bills\u2019 offensive coordinator, he wants this to be considered brand new for everyone now that he\u2019s the head coach.<\/p>\n Brady wants the team to have a new identity, and the culture will change. And, the head coach wants everyone to buy in from the jump\/<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve got to start this from ground zero, from the jump,\u201d he said. \u201cI want the guys to understand this is all new \u2014 and they\u2019re going to build it. I have values I believe in but if I\u2019m the only one that believes in it, then there\u2019s not going to be that buy-in. You hope the guys buy-in so that what they value is what I value.
