Los Angeles Rams<\/a> wide receiver Puka Nacua has checked into rehab in Malibu, according to The California Post<\/a>. The news was confirmed by Nacua\u2019s attorney, Levi McCathern, to the Post, stating that the receiver has been at a luxury treatment center.<\/p>\n

Nacua was recently accused of biting a woman and making an antisemitic remark on New Year\u2019s Eve this past December. The woman\u2019s request for a temporary restraining order has been withdrawn, but Nacua is still being sued.<\/p>\n

McCathern says Nacua\u2019s decision to enter rehab is not directly in response to the lawsuit<\/a>, but the stories that have been written about the Rams wideout was \u201ccertainly a contributing factor.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nacua has been in rehab for \u201ca substantial period of time\u201d and is \u201cscheduled to be there for a while longer,” McCathern says.<\/p>\n

McCathern added that Nacua\u2019s goal with the stay is \u201cto improve his overall behavior in every aspect of his life that he can do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I\u2019m really proud of him doing it and doing it in this offseason.\u201d<\/p>\n

Photos The Post obtained show the Rams wide receiver going in and out of the treatment center on two separate occasions in March.<\/p>\n

Nacua\u2019s attorney says Puka is \u201cdoing absolutely fabulous\u201d and is in \u201cgreat spirits,” though there are no specifics surrounding the reason for Nacua’s rehab visit.<\/p>\n

In addition to the alleged incident on New Year\u2019s Eve, Nacua was also spotted drunkenly stumbling and dancing in the street at a Super Bowl party in February before getting into the back of an SUV. Last season, he drew the ire of the NFL when he publicly criticized officials<\/a> on a livestream with Adin Ross, also performing an antisemitic dance \u2013\u00a0which he later apologized for<\/a>. The league fined him $25,000 for his comments about officials.<\/p>\n

The Rams knew about the New Year’s Eve incident before the allegations were made, and this week, Sean McVay commented<\/a> on Nacua’s off-field run-ins. He hopes Nacua will use these incidents as learning opportunities and the Rams plan to keep supporting him as he grows.<\/p>\n
