WASHINGTON, D.C. \u2014 The NFL Players Association (NFLPA) released a new episode of its AthleteAnd series<\/a> on Wednesday, spotlighting Indianapolis Colts defensive back Kenny Moore II and his growing impact in the classroom as an eighth-grade life skills teacher at Cardinal Ritter High School in Indianapolis.<\/p>\n Known on Sundays as one of the league\u2019s most reliable corners, Moore has taken on a different role on Tuesdays\u2014\u201cMr. Kenny\u201d\u2014leading conversations centered on financial literacy, relationships, mental health and decision-making.<\/p>\n \u201cIt feels like I’ve gained little brothers and sisters,” Moore said. “Just like I want them to do well in the classroom, they want me to do well on Sundays.<\/p>\n Through his Love One Foundation<\/a>, Moore partnered with Cardinal Ritter to launch the Rise and Shine Initiative, a program focused on accountability, consistency and helping students envision opportunities beyond the classroom.<\/p>\n What began as a simple visit\u2014after reconnecting with former trainer and current athletic director Levar Johnson\u2014quickly turned into a deeper commitment.<\/p>\n \u201cHe’s taking it very seriously. He’s not just here on Tuesdays\u2014he shows up other days as well to support the students,\u201d Johnson said. \u201cHe’s part of the fabric. He’s part of the community.\u201d<\/p>\n Principal Kari Jost echoed that sentiment, noting Moore\u2019s dedication even during the demands of the NFL season.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen Kenny told me that he wanted to be in the building every week\u2014even during the season\u2014I thought it was remarkable,\u201d Jost said. \u201cHe’s always here with the kids and ready to work with them.\u201d<\/p>\n Moore\u2019s story highlights the power of purpose beyond the game, demonstrating how players can use their platforms to create meaningful, lasting connections within their communities.<\/p>\n The AthleteAnd campaign<\/a>, originally launched in 2018, celebrates the multi-dimensional lives of NFL players and empowers them to share their stories beyond the game.
